We crossed the Alps through the St Bernard tunnel to have lunch at Edi's this first Friday of May 2024. It was snowing lightly when we stopped at the old ski lift station/restaurant on the Swiss side of the tunnel for some urbex photoshoot but once down at the restaurant, temperature had risen to 16 degrees and we were warmly greeted by Edi and his kind and efficient staff. Pasta with black truffles and duck were on our plates, served with a local red and followed by panna cotta with blueberries. Unfortunately, they had still not opened the terrace from which you have a wonderful view southwards over the snowcapped mountains north of Torino. The place is popular with people from the cantons of Wallis and Vaud so book your table to be able to enjoy the company of the owner both in person and on the artwork decorating the walls. Highly recommended.
